UPVC doors and windows are made primarily from polyvinyl chloride (UPVC) resin, combined with stabilizers, colorants, fillers, UV absorbers, etc. The material is extruded, and then doors and window frames are formed through cutting, welding, or screwing. Sealant strips, brushes, hardware, etc., are added to enhance the rigidity of the profiles, and for profiles exceeding a certain length, steel reinforcement is added to the hollow spaces. The resulting doors and windows are referred to as UPVC doors and windows.https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Polyvinyl_chloride#Construction
UPVC windows have a multi-chambered structure, offering excellent thermal insulation with a low heat transfer coefficient, only 1/357th of steel and 1/250th of aluminum. This results in significant energy savings, especially in modern buildings with heating and air conditioning systems.
UPVC windows exhibit good physical properties, including air permeability, water tightness, wind resistance, and insulation. The multi-chambered structure and precise sealing contribute to these characteristics
UPVC windows resist corrosion from acids, alkalis, and other chemicals, making them resilient against urban environmental pollution, acid rain, and other corrosive elements. This is in contrast to aluminum alloy, which may oxidize and shorten its lifespan.
Special formulations and additives enhance the weather resistance of UPVC windows, ensuring durability in temperature and climate variations, from -30°C to 70°C.
UPVC windows are non-combustible, do not support combustion, self-extinguish when removed from the fire, and comply with fire safety requirements.
UPVC windows use excellent electrical insulating materials, ensuring safety by preventing conductivity.
UPVC windows have a fine, smooth surface with consistent quality, eliminating the need for special surface treatments. Precision machining and welding result in tight tolerances, and the corner strength can reach over 3000N
Studies indicate that UPVC windows outperform aluminum alloy windows in soundproofing. The installation distance from busy roads for buildings with aluminum alloy windows needs to be at least 50 meters, while UPVC windows can achieve the same noise requirements within 16 meters.
UPVC is resistant to termites and other insects, providing protection against threats to furniture and structures.
Whether for a retro or modern look, UPVC windows come in various colors and types, offering a stylish appearance that complements interior décor. Customization options are also available.
UPVC windows, due to their durability and long lifespan, are an environmentally friendly choice as they can be recycled
In terms of performance, sliding windows generally offer a larger opening angle, allowing more light to enter and improving ventilation conditions. In contrast, casement windows, regardless of the opening angle, can be somewhat cumbersome to operate and may interfere with the installation of screens, curtains, and other soft furnishings. In terms of flexibility, casement windows rely on hinges fixed on the sides for forward and backward movement, requiring some effort to open and close. On the other hand, sliding windows use a track below the window frame for lateral movement, providing flexible operation without the effort required by casement windows.
From a price perspective, sliding windows often have a higher cost-effectiveness compared to casement windows of the same quality. Regarding the lifespan of use, the larger opening range of casement windows may result in more significant impact and wear, whereas sliding windows, with their sliding motion and rigorous sealing, exhibit good airtightness and water tightness, contributing to a longer lifespan.
Therefore, when choosing the type of window, it is advisable to weigh various factors such as the opening method, performance, price, and lifespan, considering personal preferences and requirements to select the most suitable window type.
When choosing between casement windows and sliding windows,The first thing to understand is the characteristics of the two types
Advantages of Sliding Windows:
1.Larger opening angle, allowing more light and better ventilation.
2.Smooth sliding motion.
3.Cost-effective compared to casement windows.
4.Avoids impact and friction, ensuring good airtightness and water tightness.
Advantages of Casement Windows:
1.Convenient for cleaning, with the option of inward or outward opening.
2.Good sealing and wind resistance, ensuring safety.
3.Good soundproofing and insulation properties, creating a comfortable environment.
4.Suitable for various opening directions.
5.Consider the usage performance, flexibility, price, and lifespan when choosing between sliding and casement windows.
Our UPVC windows come in both casement and sliding series, with the sliding series offering H80 and H88 options. The sliding series, recommended for regions where the annual lowest temperature is above 0 degrees Celsius and where there are no particularly high demands for insulation and soundproofing, is versatile and can be used not only for windows but also for sliding doors, offering a high cost-performance ratio.
In our casement series, we have P60, P65, P70, and P80. We recommend the following purchasing guidelines based on the minimum temperatures for window use: P60 for areas with an annual lowest temperature of -5°C, P65 for areas with an annual lowest temperature of -10°C, and P70 for areas with an annual lowest temperature of -20°C. The P80 series is rarely used and is generally reserved for extremely cold regions, such as areas with an annual lowest temperature of -40°C.
The heat transfer coefficient for P65 windows is 1.8W/M2.K. Our casement doors and windows exhibit excellent insulation and soundproofing performance. In most areas, P60 with double glazing or P65 with triple glazing is sufficient to meet the requirements.
Furthermore, we offer a variety of jointing materials, allowing a single window to incorporate both sliding and casement elements to meet different needs.
Inspect the raw materials and the production process of the profiles, including co-extrusion, UV resistance, and sealing gaskets:
Our ZhongCai UPVC windows use virgin PVC particles, ensuring the profiles’ color is pure white with excellent strength. Additionally, UV-resistant components are added to prevent discoloration from prolonged exposure to sunlight.Ultraviolet – Wikipedia
However, some factories use recycled PVC particles, resulting in yellowish and odorous profiles with poor material stability, making them prone to breakage or cracking, especially on the winter production.
Our ZhongCai UPVC windows feature an independent drainage chamber design, preventing rainwater from penetrating into the steel, ensuring the windows can be used for over 30 years. The profiles and sealing gaskets (EPDM rubber) are co-extruded, ensuring they remain firmly attached. This guarantees a secure fit between the sealing gasket and the glass, preventing air and water leakage between the glass and the profile.
Examine the steel lining:
The standard thickness of the steel lining used in our ZhongCai UPVC windows is 1.2mm, with options for 1.0mm and 1.6mm thickness. We uniformly use galvanized metal for the steel lining, treated with a galvanization process to prevent rusting, ensuring the windows have a long lifespan.Hot-dip galvanization – Wikipedia
Evaluate the glass lamination process:
We use 5mm or 6mm glass, defaulting to tempered glass, which significantly enhances its strength and ensures the safety of outdoor occupants. Our multi-layer glass also incorporates a LOW-E coating process, effectively reducing the passage of ultraviolet rays through the glass. Additionally, we include moisture-absorbing molecular sieves around the glass lamination, ensuring no condensation occurs between the glass layers during prolonged use. Lower-quality laminated glass often produces annoying condensation after some time of use.Insulated glazing – Wikipedia
Assembly and welding process:
Our UPVC windows support various connection methods such as hinges, corner hinges, friction hinges, wind braces, and actuators. The welding temperature of our profiles is set between 255-260℃, with a welding pressure of 0.25-0.35MPa, maintained for 40 seconds, ensuring strong weld joints.Hot plate welding – Wikipedia
1.Based on your local climate and the specifics of your home, determine the structure and model of the windows you need. You can create a drawing according to your requirements, simply marking the height and width of the windows and indicating where the window sashes are located. (How to measure window height and width: Use a ruler to measure the distance on all four sides of the window opening, take the shortest measurements for both height and width, and subtract 2 centimeters from each.)
2.Send us the drawing, and we will calculate the price based on your specifications, configuration, and dimensions.
3.If everything is satisfactory, please make a partial payment as a deposit. We will produce a sample and send it to you. Upon receiving the sample that meets your expectations, proceed to make the full payment through a third-party bank. We will then commence large-scale production and deliver the products to your location through logistics.
